Detached head of Sundarbans seal, tiger footprints on side
The severed head and pants of a jailer named Shipper Howladar (22) were recovered from Sundarbans. On Sunday (October 1) at around 8 am, the locals recovered the head and pants of the jailer from Tulatla forest of Dhansagar station of Sharankhola range of Sundarban East Forest Division.
Shipper is the son of Farooq Howladar of Paschim Rajapur village adjacent to the Sundarbans of Sharankhola upazila of Bagerhat. Local UP member said. Kamal Hossain Talukder said, on Wednesday (September 27) morning, the shipper went to the forest alone to fish. Should be back within the day. But the family started looking for the shipper when he did not return even after the whole day. First they started searching the forest themselves. But not getting it, on Sunday morning, more than half a hundred villagers along with family members started searching the forest with sticks.
At one point around 8 am, Shipper's head and blood-stained pant were found from a place called Tulatala in Gohin forest. Rescuers found numerous tiger paw prints around the area where Shipper's pants and head were recovered. Rabiul Islam, Dhansagar Station Officer of Chandpai Range of the Forest Department, said that since the shipper's house is adjacent to the Sundarbans, he escaped alone and entered the forest without taking the permission of the Forest Department. We came to know about the incident in the morning after the locals searched and brought his head.
